Our Cinema and Café-Bar

How many seats does the cinema have? We have two auditoriums: screen 1 has 32 individual armchairs and four double-seat sofas (40 seats total), while screen 2 has 40 individual armchairs and four double-seat sofas (48 seats total). The front row seats, known as our Living Room Loungers, have a bespoke footstool and cushion for the ultimate reclining luxury. Each seat has its own individual table for drinks, and plenty of legroom.
Is your cinema wheelchair accessible? Yes. We have two wheelchair spaces in Screen 1, a wheelchair accessible restroom and the whole café-bar area is on the ground floor. Please see the ‘Accessibility’ page for more information.
What films do you show? Our programme comprises an exciting mix of current releases, age-old classics, and The Living Room Presents – our top picks of something a little bit different: foreign language, art house and documentaries. We have family screenings, including our Little Living Room performances on weekend mornings, parent and baby screenings, and show the best in Event Cinema – opera, ballet, music, exhibitions and theatre on the big screen. We also host special Q&As with filmmakers, preview screenings for our members and workshops for our younger audience members.
Do you show adverts and trailers? Is there an interval? Yes, we have adverts and trailers, just like other cinemas! There are usually 15 minutes of adverts and trailers before each film. There will never be an interval in our standard film screenings, but occasionally our Event Cinema screenings (Royal Opera House, National Theatre) will have an interval.
Can I hire the cinema? Absolutely! Whether you are a business looking for somewhere to host a company meeting or fancy hiring out the cinema for a private screening, we welcome private hires both during the day and in the evening. We have full conferencing facilities and you can request to see your favourite film (subject to availability, fees apply). It is possible to hire one of the auditoriums on its own, or both auditoriums plus foyer space. You can find more information on the Venue Hire page.
Do you have to be a ticket holder to use the café?  Of course not! If you fancy a light bite, coffee and a cake or a glass of wine in the evening, you are as welcome as our cinema guests. We are also open for takeaways.
What food / drinks do you serve? We offer a wide range of drinks, including wines, local beers and handcrafted cocktails. Our food offer includes all your favourite cinema snacks, as well as pizzas, paninis and nachos.
Do you have parking? We do not have our own on-site parking, however, there is parking in the market place and there are free car parks on Albion Street and New Street in Chipping Norton, both within walking distance of the cinema.
Do you have air-conditioning? We do! Both our café-bar and screen are air-conditioned for summer (and heated for winter), so you can be comfortable year-round.
What are your opening times? We are open daily from 9am until the last film of the day finishes (around 11pm every day except Saturday, when we close at 12am).
How can I contact you? Where possible, please come in and see us in person. Failing that, please email hellochippy@thelivingroomcinema.co.uk. We do not have a phone number, so email is the best way to reach us if you are unable to pop in.

Tickets, Memberships and Gift Vouchers

How do I book tickets? Tickets are available to purchase on our website, via the Films page or quick book fuction on the homepage, or in person in the cinema. We do not have a phone line, and are not able to take ticket bookings over the phone or via email.
Are tickets refundable? Our tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable, except in extenuating circumstances. Please be careful when booking your tickets to ensure that you have booked the correct date, time, seat/s and cinema (ensure you have booked for Chipping Norton, not our cinema in Liphook, Hampshire!). In all cases, refunds and changes to bookings will not occur after the time of the showing.
I’d like to become a member! Great! There are three different annual membership categories to choose from. Our Founder Memberships are limited in number and are for our most loyal supporters, offering the most perks. Premium Membership is for the ultimate film fans featuring unlimited cinema tickets, and our Standard Membership offers four free tickets and member-priced tickets in addition to a range of other benefits. You can purchase membership packages on our Membership page, or in person in the cinema.
Do you have to be a member to visit? Not at all! Our doors are open to everyone. However, if you become a member you will be able to take advantage of our member-priced tickets and benefits.
How do I receive my membership card? Your membership is live as soon as you have completed your purchase. You can use it right away by selecting the member ticket type and entering your email address and surname on the next screen, then pop into the cinema to collect your membership card whenever is convenient for you. Once you have your membership card, you should bring this every time you visit the cinema, so that our team can scan it and apply your discounts.
Do you sell gift cards? Yes! E-Gift cards can be purchased online up to the value of £100, or pop in to purchase a physical gift card of any value, plus a gift box for the perfect present.
How do I redeem my gift voucher/card? E-vouchers can be redeemed online using the unique code (found written on your voucher) in the ‘apply voucher code’ box on the checkout screen. If redeemed online, gift vouchers must be redeemed in full in one transaction. If you wish to use only part of an e-voucher, it must be redeemed in person to retain the remainder of the voucher for future use. Gift cards and E-Gift Cards can be redeemed online using the unique code on the card in the ‘apply gift card’ box on the checkout screen. Gift cards can be redeemed on as many individual transactions as you wish. Both gift types can be redeemed in person in the cinema.

Work With Us

I’d like to work for The Living Room Cinema. How do I go about this? Any new vacancies will be advertised on our website, social media pages, and on Indeed.
How else can I get involved? There are plenty of ways to get involved with us! It is possible to become part of the fabric of the building forever by sponsoring a seat, with your name (or your company name) etched on a brass plaque and attached to one of our armchairs. We offer corporate membership packages for local businesses and are always open to new partnerships and collaborations. If you'd like to speak to our team, email hellochippy@thelivingroomcinema.co.uk and someone will be in touch!
